During his guesting, Cristy Fermin was able to ask the veteran actor about Carla Abellana’s alleged split with her husband, Tom Rodriguez.
Rey claimed that Tom has admitted to him about having a one-night stand. Rey also said he is not considering Tom’s revelation to him as a “third-party” nor a mortal sin.
In today’s episode of her radio program, Nanay Cristy said that Rey received criticisms due to his reaction to what Tom allegedly did.
Cristy aired, “Nagsalita nga si Rey tungkol dun sa one night stand. Naku, ito na 'yung mga Marites, grabe na. May kani-kaniya na sila na paghusga na 'E, ayaw niyo siguro talagang magkabalikan ang anak mo at manugang mo. Kinakampihan mo pa si Tom sa one-night stand'.”
The veteran showbiz columnist then went on to defend Rey.
“Napakalinaw po, napakalinaw po mga kapatid ng sinabi ni Rey Abellana. Sa kanya ay hindi tama 'yon, pero nangyayari talaga sa isang lalaki.”
“Real talk lang naman ang sinabi ng Rey PJ Abellana sa sinabi niya. Hindi naman siya nag-opinyon ng ang opinyon niya ay opinyon ng isang tunay na lalaki na pinagdadaanan ang ganoong sitwasyon at posibleng, lahat ng relasyon, napagdaanan 'yon. Real talk lang po tayo. 'Wag ho tayong magmalinis sabi nga 'di ba?” said Romel Chika, Cristy’s co-host.
“Yes, totoo 'yan. Nagpakatotoo lamang po 'yung tao at inamin naman niya (Rey) na si Tom pa lamang po ang kanyang nakakausap at nanggigigil siya dahil hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa rin po sila nagkakausap ni Carla tungkol sa hiwalayan. E, siguro naman po ay dapat e, pasalamat pa nga natin si Rey PJ Abellana na nagbigay ng kahit kaunti lamang po na impormasyon tungkol sa hiwalayan,” Cristy added.

Tom Rodriguez, whose real name is Bartolome Alberto Mott, is a Filipino actor, host, and singer. My Husband's Lover, I Can See You, I Heart Davao, and The World Between Us are just a few of the TV series in which he has starred. He is married to his fellow Kapuso star Carla Abellana.
Previously, Rey Abellana claimed that his son-in-law, Tom, admitted to him about having a one-night stand. Carla’s father, however, said he is not considering Tom’s revelation to him as a “third-party”.
Rey furthermore expressed his belief that what his son-in-law did was not a mortal sin. Rey is also praying that Carla and Tom would be able to overcome whatever problem they are currently facing.
