Claudine Barretto showed how much she loved her reel and real-life ex-boyfriend Rico Yan by once again commemorating his birthday. The late actor was born on March 14, 1975.
In an Instagram post, Clau showed a photo of a cake complete with a greeting for the late actor.
She also wrote a caption on her post indicating that Clau misses and still loves Rico. In her post, the actress also tagged Rico’s sister, Tina Marie.

Last year, ABS-CBN reported that Clau also celebrated Rico’s birthday by having an intimate dinner with friends and family members.
Rico died March 29, 2002 while having a vacation with close friend Dominic Ochoa in Dos Palmas Resort in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
An Inquirer report quoting the autopsy findings of Rico Yan’s demise pointed to the cause of death as cardiac arrest due to acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis.
An article posted at the Makati Medical Center website explains that acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis is the accepted medical term for “bangungot.”
According to a Philippine Star report dated March 23, 2002, the couple broke up due to unconfirmed rumors of a “third party.”

She was born on July 20, 1979 in Manila to Miguel and Estrella Barretto. Her two other famous sisters, who are also actresses, were Gretchen and Marjorie Barretto. A couple of days ago, the actress took to her IG Stories and reposted photos made by fans about her and Rico. Based on their posts, Clau and Rico may already be celebrating their 24th anniversary. Their fans posted old photos of them together, which Clau happily shared. There was a collage, a cute couple photo, and also a short video clip with the hashtag #RYCB24EVER.
She also took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt birthday message for her sister, Gretchen Barretto. Gretchen celebrated her birthday on Sunday, March 6, and Claudine had nothing but sweet words for her. The celebrity mom also uploaded beautiful photos of the two of them together along with her birthday greetings. Many netizens reacted to Claudine's post as they also wished Gretchen a happy birthday.
