In her column published on Pilipino Star Ngayon on Tuesday, Cristy penned a commentary titled “Tatay ni James, consistent sa pagiging epal!”
“Ayan, nagalit ang tatay ni James Reid, fake news daw ang mga naglalabasang kuwento na sa Amerika na hahanapin ng kanyang anak ang magandang kapalaran.”
“Dadalawin lang daw ni James ang kanyang kapatid, hindi raw siya maghahanap ng trabaho sa bansa ni Uncle Sam, sabi pa ng kanyang tatay,” the showbiz columnist wrote.
Cristy then went on to expound why she called the singer-actor’s dad “epal”.
“Hindi na nakapagtataka ang pakikisawsaw ng ama ni James Reid sa issue. Kahit naman nu’ng kasagsagan ng popularidad niya ay laging kasali ang tatay niya sa maraming kuwento.”
“Stage father ang tatay ni James, palagi itong kasali sa aksiyon, na ikinaiirita ng mga nangangalaga sa career ng binatang aktor,” she added.
In a report by Inquirer.net, James bid his family goodbye as he left the country, with fans speculating that he is heading to Los Angeles to pursue his music career. James was sent off by his family last Thursday, Feb. 17.
ABS-CBN also reported that James took to social media to show his appreciation for his friends for throwing him a going-away party. In an Instagram story, James showed a cake with the greeting “Bon Voyage and Good Luck” written on it.
James Reid is a Filipino-Australian actor, singer-songwriter, dancer, and record producer. He broke through in showbiz through the Kapamilya show, “Pinoy Big Brother.” The actor rose to fame due to his movies and series with Nadine Lustre.

Furthermore, James was greeted with a warm welcome in the U.S. from many of his fans. In an Instagram fan account, James greeted his fans and informed everyone that he landed safely in Los Angeles. He was sporting a khaki jacket for winter, to fight off the cold temperature.
