The tribute of veteran broadcaster and TV presenter, Korina Sanchez, for the birthday of her now-deceased younger brother has stirred the online grapevine.

Posted on her Instagram account, she reminisced about the time when her brother, Ramon Sanchez, Jr. whom she fondly called Mon, was still alive.
“Mon, you left us too soon. At 19 years old you were a campus crush at Ateneo, a wiz in the kitchen and a basketball star in the village,” Korina wrote at the beginning of her post.
Korina said that Mon was the closest to her at the time.

“You were the closest to me at the time,” she fondly wrote.
Based on Korina’s IG post, her brother succumbed to leukemia at 19 years old
“Leukemia sucks. And at that time we all didn't have enough money to bring you elsewhere in the world to get better,” the veteran broadcaster said.
She recalled Mon’s last Christmas present for her and also vividly remembered his final moments.
“But even while sick, you managed to give me your last Christmas gift: a polka dotted abanico for your Ate,” she wrote in her post.
“Before you finally entered Heaven we all cant forget how you stretched your hands up in the air from your bed as if God was calling you to graduate. It was the best gift to Mom which assured us all that you're there, where everything is perfect,” Korina said.
In her post, the veteran broadcaster then expressed how much she misses her bro and asked him to watch over them all.
“I often wonder, what if… But what the heck. Ill see you soon enough bro. Know that we love and miss you and wish you could join all our happy partyings and hugot sessions. Watch over us okay? Happiest Birthday in heaven, Chinito. The hearthrob who wouldve been so much for this world,” she wrote.
In parting, Korina, in her IG post, assured her deceased brother he will never be forgotten and also remarked how much her brother looked like her own son.
“Ramon Sanchez, Jr. Never forgotten. Loved. Always a part of us. PS: Diba kamukha ni Pepe ko?” Korina wrote.
