The super typhoon made landfall in mid-December and ravaged several areas in the Visayas and Mindanao.
The Kapuso star, referred to by many as Asia’s Multimedia Star, made the commitment to help though a video call during the “Bawal Judgmental” segment of the lunchtime variety show, “Eat Bulaga.”
He said that because it’s his birthday, he wanted to help the ‘Bawal Judgmental’ choices who saw their house destroyed by the typhoon.

“Dahil naman po birthday ko rin ngayon, siyempre naghahanap din po ako ng paraan para makatulong sa mga dabarkads nating naapektuhan ng bagyo,” Alden said during the video call.
Alden then promised to provide some financial aid to help the ‘choices’ who wished to repair and rebuild their homes.
“Para po sa pagpapatayo ng kanilang mga bahay galing po sa akin so thank you po sa Eat Bulaga for this opportunity para ma-rehabilitate po at maitayo nila ang mga tahanan nilang nasalanta ng bagyo,” the Kapuso star added.
The actor is currently in the United States right now where he celebrated his birthday.
He also experienced his first “birthday salubong” abroad and posted photos about it on his Instagram account.

Previously, Alden was defended by veteran showbiz columnist, Lolit Solis, who said she heard rumors about the actor becoming moody difficult to talk to regarding changes in schedules and script. According to Lolit, it is difficult to believe these rumors because Alden is well-known for his kindness and sweetness. The entertainment columnist speculated that the person who spread those rumors must have encountered Alden during one of his off days. People should not expect celebrities to be perfect all the time, Lolit added.
