Andi Eigenmann, 31, could not help but shed tears when she finally received a message from her good friend, Marja O'Donnell who lives in the island as well.
On Saturday, December 18, KAMI learned that the former actress posted a screenshot of Marja's post on Facebook wherein she said they got out of the island safely.
"Makalo and I are safe. Most of the people in our community are. We made it out of the island, thanks to our local boatman Kuya Oyong who hid our speedboat deep in the mangroves," she said.

In her viral post, Marja continued by informing netizens that the people of Siargao and Surigao are in dire need of donations.

"Please send help to Siargao and Surigao. Satellite phones, relief goods, medical personnels, experts in disaster management. Water and food will run out soon. People are homeless or have houses without roof."
On her Instagram account, @andieigengirl, Andi expressed the relief she felt upon finding out that Marja is safe after Super Typhoon 'Odette' ravaged Siargao.
"I burst into tears when Marja messaged me. We are so grateful to finally hear from a loved one on the island and also know that our family is safe. But the island is completely devastated and it would take time before Siargao recovers. All the help would be very much appreciated. And thank you to everyone who have been working tirelessly to organize sending in relief goods, supplies, medical help, and to all those who have donated."

Andrea Nicole "Andi" Guck Eigenmann is a Filipina actress and model. Eigenmann is the daughter of actors Mark Gil and Jaclyn Jose, and is a half-sister of actors Sid Lucero, Gabby Eigenmann and Max Eigenmann from Mark Gil's side.
As reported earlier by KAMI, Andi Eigenmann's partner, Philmar Alipayo, recently gave an update about their home in Siargao online. In one of his Instagram stories, the professional surfer posted a photo of the state of their two-storey home. Visibly seen in the photo are the damages that their natural roofing garnered due to Super Typhoon 'Odette.'
Meanwhile, Andi Eigenmann recently opened up about going back to Manila again after 11 months in her latest online post. On Instagram, Andi uploaded several photos she took during their stay in the city. According to Andi, flying back to Manila as a mom of three and without Philmar "was definitely something."
