Ruffa Gutierrez opened up about her current relationship status during her appearance on GMA’s Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, where she revealed that she is happily single and has no plans to rush into dating.

The actress and former beauty queen described herself as someone who is enjoying her independence, making it clear that being unattached is a personal decision rather than a circumstance she is unhappy about.
“I am free as a bird. I am single. I am not dating. Ang dami kong textmates, ang daming nagpapakilig sa akin,” Ruffa said.
Although she acknowledged that several people are trying to get her attention and make her feel special, Ruffa explained that she has become considerably more particular about whom she entertains. For her, receiving romantic attention does not automatically mean she is ready to pursue a relationship.

She emphasized that anyone she chooses to entertain at this point in her life would already have a special place in her consideration because she is genuinely content with her situation.
“I am actually very picky right now. At kung may ini-entertain man ako, special na ‘yung taong ‘yun para sa akin because I’m happy on my own. I think that’s the most important,” she shared.
Ruffa also reflected on how growing older has influenced her approach to romance. According to the actress, people naturally become more selective as they gain experience and develop a clearer understanding of their personalities, habits, and expectations.
She acknowledged that maturity brings certain preferences and quirks that can make choosing a partner more complicated. Rather than entering a relationship simply for companionship, she would rather remain single than become involved with someone whose lifestyle or outlook does not match what she wants.
“As we get older we become more picky, marami na tayong quirks, and I love being alone and if it doesn’t fit my idea of what I want in life then I don’t want to change for that person,” Ruffa explained.
The actress further clarified that her decision to remain single does not mean she has lost her youthful outlook or interest in enjoying life. She described herself as having a fun and youthful personality, but said she is no longer interested in rushing into another serious relationship.
Ruffa pointed out that she had previously spent many years in a long-term relationship. Having experienced that chapter of her life, she now wants to give herself time to enjoy being on her own.
“I have a very youthful, fun personality but I just want to take my time because I was in a very, very long relationship for many, many years so I just want to be single for now. And it’s my personal choice,” she said.
