Coming from a prominent showbiz family, Niño Muhlach rose to fame as one of the Philippines’ most celebrated child stars during the 1970s and 1980s. He later ventured into business and now manages the popular Megamelt Bakeshop, known for its signature pastries.
Previously, Niño has been handed a 90-day suspension of his driver’s license following a road accident in Antipolo City. The Land Transportation Office (LTO) also issued a show cause order against the actor and placed the vehicle involved under alarm as it investigates the incident. Muhlach previously admitted that he fell asleep behind the wheel due to exhaustion. He apologized to the victim, their family, and others affected by the accident, and expressed his willingness to cooperate with authorities.
The veteran actor drew significant media attention after his sport utility vehicle veered off the road along Marcos Highway in Antipolo. He acknowledged that he had fallen asleep while driving, reportedly losing control of the vehicle and causing damage to a nearby food stall, a parked motorcycle, and several commercial establishments. Following the incident, Muhlach also spoke with some of the affected business owners at the scene to address the immediate aftermath and take responsibility for what happened.
