The singer, known as Asia’s Nightingale, remembered May through the relationships she nurtured and the love she gave her family. Alongside her grief, she expressed gratitude to those who have offered comfort during their loss.
In her message, Lani described how much her sister meant to the people closest to her.
“She was not only a wonderful sister to us, but also a loving wife, a dear friend, a devoted partner to our brother-in-law, Manong Joey, and a caring mother to their two children,” she wrote.

The tribute reflected the family’s sorrow as they faced life without May. The singer put that feeling into a short, personal line.
“May kirot talaga sa dibdib knowing that she is no longer with us.”
Lani also shared that the kindness shown to their family has brought some comfort. She acknowledged those who took the time to send condolences, offer prayers, and share encouraging words.
“But in the midst of our grief, we find comfort in the overwhelming love and kindness you have all shown us. Your heartfelt messages of condolence, prayers, and words of encouragement have somehow made the pain a little easier to bear.”
Her message included a special thank-you to people who knew May personally, particularly the friends who remembered her with affection.
“To everyone who has reached out, thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” she said.
The performer explained that knowing how much her sister was loved meant a great deal to the family. She also spoke about holding on to the memories May left behind.
“Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the beautiful memories she leaves behind and for the love that will forever keep her close to us.”
