"One thing that I would add is, whenever I get a trophy or an award, I don't really think about my performance or what I've won or what I've done. Awards and trophies always remind me of the people who worked behind the scenes: the crew, production people, director, cinematographer, editor, colorist, and marketing."
He also made sure to acknowledge the fans who supported him and voted for him, saying that they are among the people he will remember whenever he looks at the award.
"Yeah, so they are the ones whom I'll remember whenever I see this award, along with the fans who voted for me. Thank you."
Paulo Avelino is a multi-awarded Filipino actor widely recognized for his versatility in both television and film. He first rose to fame after winning in GMA Network's reality talent search StarStruck, but it was when he transferred to ABS-CBN that his career truly flourished. He gained recognition through teleseryes such as Walang Hanggan and Bridges of Love, and earned critical acclaim for his role in the historical film Heneral Luna, where he portrayed General Gregorio del Pilar. Over the years, Paulo has become one of the most respected leading men in the industry, known for his compelling performances. Off-screen, Paulo is admired for maintaining a relatively private personal life compared to many of his contemporaries, though he occasionally shares glimpses of his life as a father to his son, Aki, one that is admired by his fans.
Recently, Paulo caught the attention of netizens after sharing a thought-provoking message on social media. He pointed out that some people may not fully understand the real-life impact of a stolen “amount,” noting the things it could have provided for someone’s future. Among the examples he mentioned were purchasing a home, covering hospital expenses, and funding a person’s education.
Meanwhile, Paulo also called out individuals who had allegedly been recording videos of his private residence for several consecutive days. The actor shared photos of the unidentified individuals and appealed for “fairness,” emphasizing the importance of respecting personal boundaries. His fans expressed concern for his safety, with some comparing the situation to the theme of obsession portrayed in his acclaimed film “Fan Girl.”
