Ryza Cenon opened up about why she and her longtime partner, Miguel Antonio Cruz, have yet to tie the knot.

During her guest appearance on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Tuesday, September 29, the actress explained that they want to take their time and build a stronger foundation for their relationship before getting married.

"We want to strengthen the foundation of our love more," Ryza said, speaking in both Filipino and English.

She explained that marriage is a major commitment and that both partners need to be prepared mentally and emotionally before taking that step.

"Because it is hard to enter a marriage when you are both not ready mentally and emotionally," she added.

Ryza also revealed that she and Miguel considered how their decision could affect their child, Night, especially if they were to rush into marriage without being fully ready.

"We could be rushing to enter a marriage and then separate in the end. Night will be the one who suffers," she said.

Ryza Cenon is a Filipina performer whose career has spanned acting, dancing, modeling, and painting. She rose to prominence after being named the Ultimate Female Survivor of “StarStruck Season 2,” GMA Network’s reality talent competition. Since then, she has continued to build her career in the entertainment industry while also pursuing her passion for the arts. Cenon became a mother when she welcomed her son, Night, on October 31, 2020. She is currently in a relationship with cinematographer Miguel Antonio Cruz, whom she first met in 2019. The couple has since been raising their son together while continuing their respective careers.

Recently, Ryza opened up about finally seeking medical treatment for the persistent pain in her right shoulder. The actress shared that she was diagnosed with a tendon tear and compression affecting the outer part of her shoulder, prompting her to undergo platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment in hopes of easing the discomfort and getting back to her usual activities. She also encouraged those experiencing persistent pain to have their condition properly evaluated and consult a medical professional about whether PRP treatment could be suitable for them.

Earlier, Ryza shared her happiness and pride over another school milestone reached by her son, Night. She took to Instagram to post photos from his moving-up ceremony and celebrated his continued academic recognition throughout the years. The actress also praised Night for communicating clearly and showing confidence at a young age. In her message, she encouraged her son to continue believing in himself, pursue his potential, and hold on to the qualities that make him shine as he grows.
