Chariz Solomon became candid about the realities of motherhood during her appearance on GMA’s Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, opening up about the emotional exhaustion that can come with being responsible for a family.

The actress and comedian reflected on how mothers can often find themselves carrying some of the most difficult responsibilities at home while simultaneously feeling that their own needs are being placed at the bottom of the priority list.
According to Chariz, the experience can sometimes make her feel as though her work provides an important emotional outlet. She admitted that she feels particularly happy when she is at work, where she can step away from the many responsibilities that come with being a mother.
“Minsan kasi ‘pag nanay ka parang ikaw ‘yung gumagawa ng toughest jobs and decisions pero parang feeling mo madalas ikaw ‘yung pinaka hindi importante,” Chariz said.

“I feel that a lot. Kaya masaya talaga ako kapag nasa work ako,” she added.
Chariz went on to recall a time when the accumulated exhaustion became overwhelming and she experienced an emotional breakdown.
“Nag-breakdown ako isang beses,” she recalled.
At the time, Chariz said she had reached a point where she felt completely drained from taking care of everyone around her. Her responsibilities extended beyond her children, as she also found herself thinking about and attending to the needs of their household helpers.
“Sabi ko, pagod na pagod ako kasi lahat kayo inaalagaan ko, pati mga helpers iniintindi ko, sino bang mag-iintindi sa’kin? Sinong mag-aalaga sa’kin?” she said.
The question reflected the emotional burden she was carrying at the time. After devoting so much of herself to her family and household, Chariz found herself asking who would provide the same kind of care and attention to her.
She also admitted that she reached a point where she did not even want to go home.
“Sabi ko, pagod na pagod ako, ayokong umuwi,” she recalled.
Adding to her discomfort during that particular period was the physical pain caused by an adjustment to her braces.
“’Tsaka masakit ‘yung adjustment ng braces ko no’n,” Chariz added.
Her story offered a look at the less glamorous side of motherhood, particularly the pressure of constantly making decisions, caring for others, and managing a household while trying to find time for oneself.
