SB19 reaches new milestone with first live TV appearance in Japan

SB19 reached another international milestone after making their Japanese television debut on DayDay, a weekday morning information and entertainment program on Nippon Television.

During the guesting, the five-member P-pop group took part in conversations and fun segments on the show. They also introduced more viewers in Japan to their music as they performed their latest single, “Lawless.”

Ahead of the appearance, the group shared their excitement with A’TIN and described the guesting as another milestone in their growing international journey.

“Another milestone! The Philippines and beyond! Our first live TV appearance in Japan is coming up. We can't wait to share this moment with you,” they wrote on Instagram Story.

The artists later gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at their first live television appearance in Japan. In the post, they reflected on how far they have come since starting out with big goals for their music and career.

“We were once just dreamers with big dreams,” they wrote.

They also described being featured on national television in Japan as another experience they could finally check off their bucket list.

The DayDay appearance comes just before another major stop in the country. The P-pop act is part of the Summer Sonic 2026 lineup, with a performance scheduled at the MASSIVE Stage in Osaka on August 14. They will then perform at the PACIFIC Stage in Tokyo on August 15.

After Summer Sonic, the group is also scheduled to meet supporters at their I WaS There Thanksgiving Fan Meet in Yokohama on August 18.

Their packed Japan schedule follows a series of notable activities in the United States.

In late July, the artists appeared at the GRAMMY Museum’s Global Spin Live in Los Angeles, where the program featured a discussion and special performance. The event was held on July 28.

They also took part in a ceremonial first pitch at a Major League Baseball game in Chicago before taking the stage at Lollapalooza 2026. Their festival performance was held on July 30 at the Allianz Stage in Grant Park.

With their Japanese TV debut followed closely by Summer Sonic and their Yokohama fan meet, the group continues a busy stretch of international activities in 2026.

In separate news, SB19 is set to release its highly anticipated album “Wakas at Simula” on March 27, marking a milestone in the group’s eight-year journey in the music industry. The project features six new tracks, including the previously released “Visa,” along with re-recorded songs presented with fresh arrangements. Members shared that the album reflects their evolving sound, artistic maturity, and growth in the business side of music, while also emphasizing unity within the expanding P-pop scene.

Meanwhile, SB19 surprised their loyal fans, known as A'TIN, after announcing their performance at Lollapalooza 2026 in Chicago. The group expressed excitement on social media about taking the festival stage. They will make history as the first P-pop group and the first Filipino act to perform at the renowned event. Their appearance is scheduled during the four-day festival from July 30 to August 2 at Grant Park.
