During his interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Tuesday, August 4, Ruru opened up about Rere’s recent marriage to basketball player Kai Sotto and addressed the possibility of getting married to his longtime partner, Bianca Umali, despite his sister already tying the knot.
Host Boy Abunda first asked Ruru if he had expected Rere to marry before him.
Ruru admitted that he was surprised because people are generally accustomed to seeing the older sibling get married first. However, he said that life can bring unexpected developments, and these surprises can sometimes lead to beautiful moments. He also expressed happiness after seeing how happy Rere is in her new chapter.

Explaining his reaction to his younger sister getting married ahead of him, Ruru said:
The conversation then shifted to “sukob,” which is traditionally associated with the belief that family members should not get married within the same year. Boy asked Ruru directly whether he believes in the practice.
