Actress-comedian Pokwang candidly addressed whether negative comments about her political views still affect her during a recent interview. During her latest guest appearance on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," where she appeared alongside actress Meryll Soriano, she spoke openly about why she remains vocal on political issues despite the criticism she sometimes receives online.

During the interview, host Boy Abunda noted Pokwang's willingness to openly express her political opinions despite the backlash she sometimes faces. He asked why she continues to speak up about political issues even in the face of criticism.

Before sharing her answer, Pokwang explained that speaking about politics is something she considers a right as a Filipino citizen and a taxpayer. She also said that being aware of what is happening in the country motivates her to speak up because she hopes future generations will inherit a better government.

"Siguro karapatan ko 'yun bilang mamamayang Pilipino, as a taxpayer, karapatan ko po 'yun, natin. Ibig sabihin lang po n'yan, aware ako sa nangyayari sa paligid and gusto ko po s'yempre, 'yung mga anak ko, 'yung mga apo ko, kumbaga pag nawala tayo sa mundo nitong mas matatanda, gusto nating iwanan sa kanila, isang maganda at maayos na gobyerno."

Boy then followed up by asking whether she still cares whenever people criticize her posts online instead of supporting them.

Before giving her response, Pokwang admitted that there was a time when online criticism affected her emotionally. However, she said she has since reached a point where she no longer lets negative comments bother her.

"Dati medyo naaapektuhan ako pero ngayon, bahala kayo d'yan."

The exchange highlighted Pokwang's perspective on using her platform to express her views on issues she believes are important, while also showing how her attitude toward online criticism has changed over time.
