"Happy Birthday to my beautiful partner in crime, for what has been 5 years now. Where do I even begin? We have been through a lot. From the great to the difficult. You have been there for me through everything and you have definitely ridden the rollercoaster ride with me. For that I am grateful," he wrote.

"We’ve had breakups, make ups, and whatever the hell else is in between those two. But one thing that’s for sure is I have always been crazy about you," Matthew shared.

He added that they remained best friends even during times when their lives seemed to be moving in different directions. According to him, they always found themselves back in each other's arms, making their relationship even more meaningful.

"We’ve always been the best of friends even when both of our lives seemed to be growing apart. Most importantly we always seemed to end up back in each others arms. It’s been truly special and I simply cannot picture my life any other way. I wouldn’t want it any other way," he said.

The celebrity also expressed his hope of continuing to grow together with JJ and promised to be there for her even more in the years ahead.
