Singer-actress Julie Anne San Jose is preparing to release a brand-new song, and this time, the inspiration behind it is someone very close to her heart—her boyfriend, Rayver Cruz.

During an interview featured in Nelson Canlas’ report on "24 Oras" on Wednesday, July 1, Julie Anne opened up about the story behind the track, describing it as a project that came together unexpectedly. According to the Kapuso star, creating the song was a unique experience because it happened naturally during a period when she was unable to do much else.

Explaining how the idea first came to her, Julie Anne said the melody unexpectedly played in her mind while she was recovering from an illness. She recalled that she simply wrote down the tune and lyrics as they came, eventually turning them into a complete song.

“Parang first time ko rin nagkaroon ng ganitong klaseng song at ng track. Nakakatawa nga kasi ‘yung story behind it, sobrang random kasi,” she said.

Julie Anne went on to share that she was on bed rest when inspiration suddenly struck. Instead of letting the melody slip away, she immediately took note of it, eventually realizing that the song was dedicated to Rayver.

“I got sick at that time. Syempre bed resting ako 'di ba, tapos may pumapasok na melody sa isip ko, tas sinusulat ko lang siya,” she said. “It’s actually for Ray. I wrote it for Ray. It's a love song.”

While Julie Anne has released numerous songs over the years, she noted that this upcoming track feels different because of the personal story behind its creation.

She first rose to fame as a child contestant on "Popstar Kids" in 2005, later joining the singing group Sugarpop and becoming a regular performer on GMA's variety shows. As an actress and TV host, Julie Anne has starred in several drama series, including "My Guitar Princess," "Buena Familia," "Pinulot Ka Lang sa Lupa," and, most notably, as Maria Clara in the acclaimed "Maria Clara at Ibarra." She also served as a host for the singing competition "The Clash" and as a coach on "The Voice Kids."
