Actress AJ Raval opened up about the fear and uncertainty she experienced after discovering that she was pregnant at the age of 17 during her guest appearance on the May 11 episode of the talk show “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.”

During the interview, AJ talked about starring in the upcoming episode of “Magpakailanman” titled “Batang Nanay, Tatlong Panganay,” which is scheduled to air on Saturday, May 16. The actress shared that she could strongly relate to her role in the drama anthology because she also experienced becoming pregnant at a young age in real life.

Host Boy Abunda asked AJ about the emotions she went through at the time and whether her pregnancy had been planned.

“Ikaw ba at 17, natakot ka ba noong nalaman mo or were you ready? Was it planned, when you got pregnant?” Boy asked.

AJ candidly admitted that the pregnancy was unplanned and recalled how terrified she felt after seeing the result of her pregnancy test.

“No, it wasn't planned, Tito Boy,” she answered.

“That time takot na takot ako noong nakita ko 'yung pregnancy test. Nasa ako nito eh, nasa isang supermarket. Takot na takot ako. Hindi ko alam kung paano ko io-open up sa magulang ko. Siyempre, bilang isang bata na nabuntis nang maaga, nandoon 'yung [mga tanong na] ‘Paano 'yung pangarap ko? Paano 'yung buhay ko? Paano 'yung future ko?’”

AJ further explained that despite the fear and uncertainty she felt at the time, she eventually learned to accept her situation and embrace motherhood as part of her journey.

“And then, naisip ko po na ito na po 'yung buhay ko, ito na po 'yung plano for me, ie-embrace ko na lang po ang nangyayari. At naisip ko rin po, ‘Never stop chasing your dreams. You chase your dreams with your child.’”
