In an interview aired on ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol, the P-pop girl group candidly shared that they initially had doubts about how their performance would be received by an international audience.
Sheena Catacutan admitted that before stepping onto the stage, they were anxiously checking their phones and wondering if people would actually come to watch their set.
“Sa backstage tumitingin kami sa phones namin at nagtatanungan kung may pupunta ba at noong pumasok kami sa stage noong intro ng ‘Shagidi,’ punong puno. Nakataas ang Philippine flags, ang daming casuals,” she said.

The group’s worries quickly disappeared the moment they saw the massive turnout. According to Sheena, the sight of Filipino flags waving in the crowd and the presence of both fans and casual listeners instantly reassured them that they had an audience ready to support them.
Colet Vergara echoed the sentiment, sharing how the crowd’s energy elevated their performance and allowed them to fully enjoy the moment.
“Kinakanta po nila yung songs namin, and yung casuals nagpa-party and naghe-head bang sila sa ‘Out of My Head’ kaya nawala ang kaba namin, nag-enjoy na lang kami sa stage,” she said.
For Colet, the fact that even those unfamiliar with their music joined in the fun was a powerful reminder of how music can transcend language and cultural barriers.
Maloi Ricalde, meanwhile, reflected on the emotional significance of the performance, emphasizing the hard work and sacrifices the group made leading up to the event.
“Yung mga pinagplanuhan at sinacrifice namin ng ilang buwan with this performance, ang sarap sa puso that we did our best at naramdaman namin ang support ng Pinoy. Sana naipakilala namin ang sarili namin sa buong mundo,” she shared.
The group’s appearance at Coachella has been widely regarded as a historic milestone for P-pop and Original Pilipino Music (OPM), marking one of the rare instances a Filipino girl group has performed at the globally influential festival.
Their setlist included high-energy tracks that showcased their signature sound and choreography, drawing cheers from both longtime fans and new listeners. As the group continues to gain recognition worldwide, their Coachella experience stands as a defining moment.
