Television host Bianca Gonzalez called on media platforms to be more mindful when featuring celebrities’ luxury items, especially in light of the current economic situation, saying that highlighting the prices of such items may be inappropriate given what many Filipinos are going through.

On Monday, April 6, Bianca Gonzalez shared her thoughts on X, where she posted a message addressed to media outlets and content creators who feature high-end items owned by celebrities. In her post, she urged them to reconsider including the prices of luxury items in their features.

“Sa mga media platforms featuring luxury items ng mga celebs, wag na muna sanang isama sa feature yung presyo ng mga ito,” Bianca wrote, calling for sensitivity in how these stories are presented to the public.

She acknowledged that celebrities likely worked hard and saved up for these purchases, but emphasized that the timing may not be right to focus on the cost of expensive items.

“Malamang ay pinag-ipunan nila ito, oo, pero sa ekonomiyang ito, sa taas ng presyo ng gas at bilihin, sa nangyayari sa mundo, sa hirap na pinagdadaanan ng mga kababayan natin,” Bianca continued, pointing out the broader context of rising fuel prices, increasing cost of basic goods, global issues, and the struggles many Filipinos are currently facing.

Bianca then stressed that going into detail and showcasing the prices of luxury items does not seem appropriate at this time.

“Hindi ito ang panahon para detalyehin pa at ibida ang mga ganitong bagay. Hindi naaayon. Salamat,” Bianca added.
