“In my humble beginnings, Boy Navarrete did my makeup for free up until the time that I could already afford to pay,” she recalled.

She also shared that designer Arnold Galang helped her with her costumes and stage outfits. “He was the one who gave me my costumes,” she said.

Jamie then turned to the Asia’s King of Talk and recalled how he supported her career as her publicist without asking for anything in return. “As I said earlier, Kuya Boy, you were my publicist and you didn’t ask for anything,” she added.

The singer underscored that many of the people who supported and protected her throughout her career were members of the LGBTQ+ community, which shaped her perspective and deepened her appreciation for them.

“They protected me. So what is there to judge for if you’re surrounded by angels? Sila ‘yung mga tumulong sa akin. For me, they will go to heaven. That is my point of view,” she expressed.

While discussions about faith and sexuality remain sensitive topics, Jamie made it clear that her views are shaped by the people who stood by her during her early years in the industry. For the singer, those experiences became the basis of her belief that kindness and compassion matter more than judgment.

In a recent report, Alvin Aragon issued a statement against “King of Talk.” In a Facebook post, he wrote an open letter to “Maam Annette” about the show, saying that the program is being used to portray that being LGBTQIA+ is okay.

Nic responded honestly and emotionally, challenging the belief that gender identity and orientation are matters of choice.
