During her guest appearance on Fast Talk With Boy Abunda on GMA, Shuvee shared that there was a time when she would give almost everything she earned to her family—even if it meant leaving very little for herself.
“Kasi ’yung trabaho po namin dito as an artista, hindi naman po siya palaging meron, e. So ’yung mga times na before PBB, wala na po talaga akong maibigay, kahit na PhP 5,000 na para sa akin, ibibigay ko na lang sa kanila tapos magnu-noodles na lang ako,” she admitted.
Despite the hardships, Shuvee emphasized that her intentions have always been rooted in love and care. She made sure that her family’s basic needs were met, especially when it came to food and daily essentials.

“I make sure na every week, may pagkain ang ref, may supplies kayo diyan, hindi kayo magugutom. ‘Yung pag-aaral n’yo na lang paghirapan n’yo. ’Yung baon, ako na ’yan,” she explained.
However, as her career progressed and her perspective matured, Shuvee realized the importance of setting boundaries as a way to create a healthier dynamic for both herself and her family.
“Ngayon, na-learn ko na mag-draw ng boundaries para naman ‘to sa kanila and I’m building a house for them, make sure na they live a comfortable life. Pero I want them to really do their best sa studies nila,” she shared.
Shuvee’s story resonated strongly with audiences, especially those navigating similar situations where love for family must be balanced with personal well-being and long-term stability. Many praised her honesty and maturity, noting how difficult it can be to establish boundaries in cultures where familial support is deeply ingrained.
Shuvee Etrata first rose to prominence as a housemate on Pinoy Big Brother, where she earned the nickname “Island Ate ng Cebu.” Her natural warmth, authenticity, and lively personality quickly endeared her to viewers, making her one of the most memorable contestants of her season. Although she did not win the competition, the exposure opened doors for her in the entertainment industry. Following her stint on the show, Shuvee gradually built her career through guest appearances, hosting opportunities, and a growing online presence. Her ability to connect with audiences both on-screen and on social media helped her maintain relevance and expand her fan base.
In the same television appearance, Shuvee also addressed rumors about her relationship with Anthony Constantino during another interview on Fast Talk With Boy Abunda. She explained that she prefers to take things slowly, choosing to focus on personal growth and career development rather than rushing into a romantic commitment. The two have remained close, but both have emphasized the importance of timing and priorities.
Earlier, Shuvee paid tribute to the iconic Pinoy Big Brother house as it prepared to close and relocate. She visited the house one last time and reflected on how it changed her life. In her post, she expressed deep gratitude for the opportunities and lessons she gained during her stay, describing the experience as a crucial part of her journey toward self-discovery and growth.
