The news of the house being sold has triggered a wave of nostalgia across social media, with fans and former contestants alike sharing their favorite memories of the residence. For 21 years, the iconic PBB house stood as a symbol of dreams for thousands of aspiring artists, making its closure a significant milestone in Philippine pop culture history.
Pinoy Big Brother is a reality show where the contestants are required to stay in a house known as “Bahay ni Kuya.” The big winner will be determined by overcoming the challenges that must be faced inside the house, and also with the help of votes from the audience. The Philippine adaptation of the popular American TV reality series has produced big stars like Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Sam Milby, and many more.
In an earlier report, Lauren Dyogi confirmed that the time had come to officially say goodbye to the iconic PBB house after more than 20 years of reality television history. Despite the property being sold, ABS-CBN arranged a lease extension to finish two editions of PBB Celebrity Collab with GMA. The house may no longer be used, but the show will move to a new location and continue its legacy.
Previously, Marcus Vinuya, head of the PBB Business Unit, said the team was studying a possible relocation for the iconic PBB house. He noted that the move could happen “sooner than people think,” closing a 21-year chapter. A new edition with regular contestants was then being developed following the success of recent celebrity collaborations. While the shift was expected to stir nostalgia, leadership believed that a fresh location would deliver “new energy” and more unpredictable content for viewers.
