Filipina singer-actress Chanty Videla opened up about the current status of her K-pop group Lapillus during her guest appearance on GMA’s Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.

In the interview, Chanty candidly revealed that the group is currently not active and that its members are focusing on their individual pursuits while awaiting further direction from their management.

“Ang hirap pong sagutin. Hanggang ngayon, we’re just literally stagnant and doing our own stuff lang... floating..

So, kung ano man po ‘yung maging conclusion ng company at some point, we’re just hoping na it’s the best for everyone na lang,” Chanty said.

Her statement quickly caught the attention of fans, many of whom have been wondering about the group’s activities in recent months. While Chanty did not provide specific details about future plans, her remarks hinted at uncertainty regarding the group’s direction.

Lapillus is a multinational K-pop girl group under South Korea-based MLD Entertainment, the same company behind groups like Momoland. The group debuted in June 2022 with their single Hit Ya!, which introduced their energetic and bold concept. They followed it up with tracks such as Gratata, Marionette, and Who’s Next, gaining attention for their powerful performances and diverse lineup. Lapillus consists of six members: Chanty (Filipino-Argentinian), Shana (Japanese), Yue (American-Chinese), Bessie (Filipina), Seowon (Korean), and Haeun (Korean). The group quickly built an international fanbase, especially in Southeast Asia, due to its multicultural composition and strong stage presence.

Despite their promising debut and growing popularity, the group’s activities have noticeably slowed down, leading to speculation among fans about their future. Chanty’s recent comments appear to confirm that the members are currently in a waiting phase as the company determines the next steps.

Chanty Videla is a Filipino-Argentinian performer who has built a career both in the Philippines and South Korea. Before entering the K-pop industry, she worked as an actress and appeared in several local projects, including the supernatural series Spirits: Reawaken and the 2019 film Familia Blondina, which marked her big-screen debut. She also took part in television dramas such as Hiwaga ng Kambat and Starla. Chanty later trained under MLD Entertainment for eight months before being officially introduced as a member of Lapillus on May 25, 2022. In the Philippines, she is also signed as an exclusive artist under Sparkle.
