Bar Boys director Kip Oebanda shared encouraging updates about the condition of veteran actress Odette Khan after her family sought public assistance to help cover her medical expenses.

In an Instagram Story posted on Wednesday, March 4, Oebanda revealed that Khan’s health had begun to improve following an outpouring of support from the public and the entertainment community.
“This has been a tough week for me personally. But there is some good news — there has been an outpouring of support for Mommy O. Her condition improved. We now have a specialist who said her lungs don’t need to be drained again bec of the improvement. She is now awake, is able to eat thrice a day. She is fighting with us. Thank you to everyone who has helped,” he wrote.
Oebanda also expressed how deeply moved he was by the overwhelming response from those who admire the actress and her decades of dedication to her craft.

“Personally, I am so inspired and touched by the outpouring of love for Mommy O. Her 50 years of love for her art and craft made people love her as well. In this industry, people like her are rare. She never chased fame or validation — just quiet, dignified and high quality work over the years. One of the silent pillars of our industry. To see people give that the value it deserves is honestly very touching.”
The filmmaker ended his message by thanking those who have already contributed and those who continue to offer help, while also pointing out the broader issue of healthcare access.

Khan’s family had earlier reached out to the public for assistance with her medical expenses, prompting fellow artists and supporters to rally behind the respected actress.
