“Offering understanding, support and compassion is crucial. Not everyone is built the same way. Some people hide scars and never share their pain and often feel very alone. Encouraging open communication without judgement, prejudice and comparison can save someone’s life. In that way even deeper connections are made and we would not have to walk on egg shells around each other. Just because someone says they are ok does not mean they are. By design, humans were born with an emotional world as well as a physical one and we are also born with a conscious brain capable of processing information, so we are blessed with intelligence. Unfortunately many are exposed to this life and it’s cruelty in different variations. We are taught what to think but not how to think. And we are not taught that we have the power to harness our minds. In other cases, problems are a result of hormones and body chemistry. It is so nuanced it should not be excused by one statement alone. Healing is possible. Being kinder, could help improve a world so often unkind and dismissive. But behind the struggle is a chance for you to become your own super hero. For you to become stronger. Remember you have power over your mind. Growth happens in diversity and in pain. The climb to the mountain IS the story, it is not the destination. Do not dismiss your growing pains or sadness as weakness they are the lessons that will make you who you are. They are but a moment, in life’s cycle of ups and downs. The more you train a muscle to become stronger, in time it will. Same with your brain. Train it to love you, even if maybe, in your early life you weren’t taught to. Don’t give up on yourself. Wear your scars bravely. And find strength in the silent battles that you do win. Do it for people who might still be in the dark, hold up your light and help guide them back to the light too.”
