The actor posted a heartfelt note addressed directly to his little girl, reflecting on how he and his wife, actress Sophie Albert, agreed even before Amara was born that Sophie would spend more time caring for the baby while he focused on their eldest daughter. Now that Amara has turned one, Vin admitted he sometimes feels a small ache when she calls out “mama” and other words first and often chooses her mom over him, but he said he understands this phase and knows his time will come.

Vin and Sophie welcomed Amara Kristina in September 2023, adding another bundle of joy to their growing family. The couple, who tied the knot in 2023 after more than a decade together, are also parents to their first daughter Avianna, with both parents frequently sharing glimpses of their hands on and affectionate parenting style on social media.

In his post, Vin lovingly reassured Amara that he is willing to wait for the day she runs to him and looks for her “daddy,” promising he will always be nearby and ready with games, laughter, and fun once that time comes.

“Hey my youngest,
Your mom and I talked about this even before you came. We had this quiet deal..that when you arrived, I’d focus more on your ate, because you’d need more time with mommy. And that was okay. I understood that.
Now you’re one… and I’ll be honest, I feel like I’m getting left out sometimes.
You can say mama, momsie, missy (our dog)bus, more, even your little “shhh”…
but not daddy yet.
And if you get to choose who you go to, I’m usually last.
That part stings a little…but I remember this feeling.
I felt the exact same way when your ate was your age.
So I know how this goes.
I know there will be a day when you’ll start looking for me more.
A day when you’ll run to me, ask for me, and choose me.
Just not today…and that’s okay.
For now, go be with your mommy.

And when that day comes, I’ll be ready.
Love,
Daddy”
