Through his Instagram Stories, Ogie observed the massive resurgence of these anonymous reports but questioned the integrity of the content being shared. He emphasized that if content creators are going to participate in the culture of blind items, the information should at least be current.
"Alam kong usong-uso na naman ang pagba-blind item. Pero juice ko naman, sana naman, yung mga latest at recent," Ogie wrote.
He expressed his annoyance with sources who dig up decades-old scandals and present them as if they are breaking developments. Ogie noted that many of these stories involve people who have long since moved on or are no longer active in the industry.

Beyond the accuracy of the timeline, Ogie highlighted how this practice affects younger fans.
"Maawa kayo sa mga GenZ na humuhula! Hahahaha!" Ogie concluded.
His remarks also serve as a reminder for social media users to be more discerning of the timelines attached to the rumors they consume and share online.

Ogie Diaz, a familiar figure in the entertainment industry, has built a career as an actor, comedian, reporter, and talent manager. Many still associate him with his memorable portrayal of “Pekto” in the classic sitcom Palibhasa Lalaki. Beyond television, he engages millions through his YouTube channel, Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update, where viewers rely on him for timely and straightforward showbiz discussions. Known for speaking his mind, he often tackles entertainment topics and occasionally addresses political issues with the same openness.
Ogie recently took to Instagram Stories to debunk a viral Facebook post that falsely identified him as the source of rumors regarding a marital rift between Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi. Reposting the misleading collage and caption, Ogie explicitly clarified that the content was fake news and urged the public to report the malicious post. While the veteran talent manager acted quickly to clear his name, the couple has not issued any statement regarding the matter.
Earlier, Ogie clarified that he never identified Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes as the "power couple" in a viral blind item about a failing marriage. He debunked a Facebook page's claims linking him to the rumor, explaining that the couple was only mentioned due to public speculation rather than his own confirmation. This clarification follows Marian's own dismissal of the rumors, with Ogie emphasizing that he never dropped any names.
