Carla revealed that they both studied at OB Montessori in Greenhills, with Reginald being three batches ahead of her, making him her first boyfriend and first love during high school. Their young relationship lasted for more than two years before they decided to part ways, as Reginald had to fully focus on his dream of entering medical school, a choice Carla described as brave and selfless.
“Three batches higher siya sa akin so I was in first year and he was in fourth year high school but we went to the same school — OB Montessori in Greenhills. First boyfriend and first love… Naging kami and nagtagal kami ng mga more or less than two years at that time…
“Nag-break kami because he actually had to really focus on his studies kasi he was serious about med school so talagang in all fairness to him, napaka-brave niya na kinailangan niyang pumili between our relationship and med school.”

The actress shared that after years apart, life somehow led them back to each other when Dr. Santos messaged her on social media a few years ago, when they also realized they still had one another’s contact numbers.
“After a while, we realized we still had each other’s numbers so same pa din yung mga numbers from that long ago. Doon na kami nag message directly kasi naka-save pa rin yung number niya sa akin.“
Carla explained that despite the long gap, their numbers remained the same and reconnecting felt natural, eventually leading to direct conversations. She also admitted that after her past experiences, she had built emotional walls and struggled with trust, choosing to distance herself from dating and suitors for a long time.
According to Carla, everything changed when they finally met again after decades of not seeing each other in person. She described the moment as surprisingly comfortable, saying it felt as though they were back in high school, with the same ease and familiarity still present. That reunion slowly broke down the walls she had built, allowing their relationship to grow again, this time with maturity, understanding, and shared life experiences.
