In an emotional social media post, the Queen of All Media revealed that the incident happened during a PICC line procedure, which unexpectedly turned critical and left her temporarily unable to breathe.

According to Kris, there was a span of nearly two minutes when her lung stopped functioning, causing her to stop breathing altogether. She shared that she has not yet fully processed what happened, describing the experience as deeply alarming despite the procedure being considered routine. Kris credited her anesthesiologist, two surgeons, and the immediate presence of her rheumatologist for helping save her life during the emergency.

The television host also expressed heartfelt gratitude to her medical team, saying she felt their concern and love the moment she regained consciousness. In the recovery room, Kris said it was the kiss from her youngest son, Bimby, that made everything feel real and reminded her how close the situation had come to tragedy. She described the moment as a powerful reminder that her life was spared through faith, prayer, and divine guidance.

Kris ended her message by thanking everyone who continues to pray for her healing and recovery. She emphasized her belief that the Holy Spirit guided everyone inside the operating room and shared that she and her family feel deeply indebted for the prayers and support that helped keep her alive.

I haven’t fully processed what happened, it was supposed to be a minor PICC LINE procedure BUT there was a span of time totaling almost 2 minutes when my lung stopped functioning- i stopped breathing. I credit my anesthesiologist, my 2 surgeons, and as soon as i awakened- the reassuring face of my rheumatologist whose concern & love i felt. In my post-op recovery room, it was future pediatrician/neurologist/or anesthesiologist Bimb’s kiss that made me realize we owe all of you my life- utang namin na buhay pa rin ako, the Holy Spirit guided my doctors and everyone in the OR”
