Carlo Aquino opened up about his health struggles this year during an interview with the press at the MMFF Parade of Stars event on December 19. The actor shared that his body was pushed to its limits after working on several projects almost at the same time, which eventually affected his health.

He revealed that doctors discovered a blockage near his heart while he was filming multiple shows and movies this year. Because of this, Carlo said there was a time when surgery was almost needed, but he was thankful that further tests showed he did not require a stent. He added that he lost weight during the health scare, though he is now slowly recovering and feeling healthier
Carlo also shared that while he did not undergo an operation, he has started taking his health more seriously. He said he now has maintenance medicines, has stopped vaping, quit drinking alcohol years ago, and is making better lifestyle choices as he continues working in the industry
“Muntik na (ma-operahan) kasi nung ginagawa namin itong pelikula na ito, actually halos sabay sabay kasi ako this year, yung It’s Okay To Not Be Okay, yung The Time That Remains, yung Bar Boys, tapos may pelikula kami ni Bela Padilla which is next year po ata, sa March, so parang nag-decline yung health ko and nakakita sila ng parang bara sa puso ko. They had to check. Fortunately, hindi kailangan ng stent but siyempre nangayayat ako. Ngayon nakakabalik balik na. Medyo humealthy na ulit kahit papaano…
