The comedian-host revealed that the couple is particularly interested in using Vice’s genes for surrogacy, citing Ion’s comment about Vice’s intelligence.
Vice explained that for the process to succeed, his mental and physical health needed to be optimal.
“Kung stressed daw ako, hindi healthy ang spêrm. So para makasiguro na maiipunang healthy 'yan, kailangan masaya yung utak at relaxed. Kung pagod ang katawan at utak, hindi sure,” the 49-year-old said, adding that age is also a key consideration in their planning.

Vice shared that they have already consulted with a doctor, who advised a three-month period of rest to ensure optimal health for the process. While Vice does not mind the physical rest required, the bigger concern lies in temporarily stepping away from It’s Showtime. The comedian noted that even a week’s absence sometimes draws complaints from viewers, and questioned what would happen if he was away for three months, given his strong connection with the show’s audience.
During film shoots, Vice would typically be monitoring the show remotely and be available via phone. However, surrogacy would require complete disconnection for proper rest and recovery, a factor Vice admitted is weighing heavily on their decision.
Vice also expressed their deep desire to have children, saying they want to love, hug, and bond with a child. While adoption remains an option, the comedian emphasized that they still hope to have their own biological child.
"I want kids, I love kids. Gusto ko magmahal, yumakap ng bata, mahalin 'yung bata, tumanggap ng pagmamahal mula sa bata.”
