Cristine Reyes confirms new romance, shares sweet moments together

Actress Cristine Reyes has confirmed being in a new relationship, as she recently posted on Facebook a series of photos showing her and boyfriend Gio Tingson over the past several months. They are seen in the pics hanging out, celebrating birthdays, and even campaigning together during the last senatorial election.

In one of the pictures, Cristine is wearing a shirt backing Imee Marcos while Gio wears one for Bam Aquino. Another photo shows Cristine and Gio spending time with her daughter, Amara, whose father is her former husband, actor Ali Khatibi.

Along with the pictures, Cristine shared an excerpt by writer Noel Ferrer about their story: apparently, Cristine and Gio first met as kids at a “marriage booth” when Gio was in Grade 6 and Cristine in Grade 5 at Ateneo de Manila University. The post says they reconnected years later and that their bond grew into a romantic relationship.

"The couple’s history dates back to their childhood days at Ateneo de Manila University, where they first met at a marriage booth — Gio in Grade 6 and Cristine in Grade 5. They later reconnected, and their relationship blossomed.“

According to reports from GMA News, Gio Tingson is currently the head of Grab’s Public Affairs and Government Relations. Before that, he served as chairperson of the National Youth Commission (NYC) from 2014 to 2016. He also worked as Chief Political Officer for Bam Aquino from 2016 to 2018, and later handled the Akbayan Citizens’ Action Party from 2018 to 2022.

Cristine Reyes is a well-known Filipino actress who has starred in many movies and shows. She was once married to Ali Khatibi, and they have a daughter named Amarah, born on February 8, 2015. Cristine later confirmed that she and Ali had separated and shared in 2024 that their marriage had already been annulled for more than a year. After their split, Cristine got into a relationship with actor Marco Gumabao. When they broke up, Cristine became the girlfriend of Gio Tingson.

Recently, Cristine and Gio Tingson were seen together at Coach Pia Acevedo’s book launch in Taguig City. Cristine said she is “very, very happy” in her love life now and that “you know when you’re with the right person.”

Earlier, Cristine also joined the September 21 rally in Manila calling out alleged government corruption. She posted photos from the event and wrote, “Trilyong piso, trilyong dahilan para lumaban Para sa bayan Para sa kinabukasan.”
