During the press conference for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry Call Me Mother, Vice Ganda and co-star Shuvee Etrata shared emotional and heartwarming messages onstage while being interviewed by MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN.

Shuvee expressed her gratitude for Vice, saying that working with him changed her life and taught her valuable lessons about accountability, learning from mistakes, and looking up to those she values most.

“I’m happy na I was given this chance to breathe the same air as Meme (Vice). Binago niya ang buhay ko, sa pag-aartista ko po, simula sa ‘PBB’ hindi po namin alam ang pinaggagawa namin sa buhay. Ngayong na-realize ko na ang mundong ito ay madali as long as you let them teach you, let them guide you, learn how to be accountable, learn from your mistakes and always look up to the person you value the most.”

Vice also shared his affection for Shuvee, emphasizing that they understand each other and should not be distracted by outside noise, highlighting the strong bond they now share.

“Ako love ko ’yang si Shuvee. Kaya sabi ko huwag tayong malulunod sa ingay; dapat tayong dalawa ang nagkakaintindihan. At nagkakaintindihan kaming dalawa ni Shuvee.”

It can be recalled that netizens criticized Shuvee months ago due to her past video. In that video, when asked if she would date Vice, Shuvee replied with “Ewww.” She later explained that she reacted that way because she sees Vice, a member of the LGBT+ community, as a fellow woman and not as a male

Shuvee Etrata became known as a housemate on a past season of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB). Nicknamed the “Island Ate ng Cebu,” she won fans over with her honesty, humor, and fun personality. She didn’t win the grand prize, but she is still one of the most memorable contestants from her season. Shuvee continues to grow her career through guest appearances, hosting, and building a strong social media presence.

Previously, Shuvee apologized for a previous post about politics that upset some people. She said she usually avoids political talks because they can divide people, but she wants to focus on promoting love for the country and speaking against corruption. She also promised to keep learning, growing, and broadening her perspective to help others. Shuvee emphasized her love for the Philippines, especially during the country’s current challenges.

In other news, GMA Senior Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdes defended Shuvee after old videos of her political opinions resurfaced. She explained that Shuvee is not a “die-hard” political supporter and that her comments are just personal observations.
