“Happy birthday to my first daughter — pero forever baby of the family.

Ikaw ang unang nagbigay sa akin ng saya, ang unang dahilan kung bakit ako at ang Papa mo ay nagsumikap sa hirap ng buhay. Mula pa noon hanggang ngayon, ikaw ang isa sa pinakamalaking biyayang natanggap ko.

Ikaw ang anak na laging chill, na parang easy lang ang buhay, pero sa likod nun, napakabait at napakaresponsable. Bata ka pa lang, ramdam na ramdam na namin ang pagiging ate mo — hindi ka sumasagot sa magulang, marunong tumanggap ng payo, at laging inuuna ang kapakanan ng kapatid mo.

Habang inaayos ko ang mga pictures mo, bumalik lahat ng memories lalo na nung unang napalayo ka sa amin dahil sa trabaho mo bilang stewardess. Dito nagsimula ang pangarap mo, at dito ko unang nakita at tunay na naramdaman kung gaano ka ka–Ate. Tuwing uuwi ka at aalis ulit, sabay-sabay kaming nae-excite — para bang ang tagal nating hindi nagkikita. Iba yung saya sa puso ng isang ina… yung sayang makita na unti-unting natutupad ang pangarap ng anak niya.
