Lito Atienza airs message to public following Emman Atienza's passing

Former Manila Mayor and Buhay Party-list Representative Lito Atienza expressed his heartfelt thanks to those who offered condolences following the death of his granddaughter, Emman Atienza, the daughter of Kapuso host Kim Atienza and educator Felicia Hung-Atienza.

In a Facebook live on Thursday, October 30, 2025, the 84-year-old politician conveyed his gratitude to friends, relatives, and supporters who reached out to their family during their time of mourning. He said the expressions of sympathy and prayers had been a great source of comfort.

“Maraming salamat po sa lahat, mga kababayan, mga kaibigan, mga kamag-anakan na nagpadala ng kanilang pagbati ng pakikiramay sa sinapit ng aking pinakamamahal na apo,” Lito said. He added that the loss was deeply painful, but their family accepts that every person’s life has both a beginning and an end.

Lito reminded viewers that what truly matters is how people live in between — by using their time for good and for what is right.

He also shared that he was overwhelmed by the number of messages received from different parts of the world. He said their family felt the love and support of many Filipinos abroad who reached out to express their sympathy.

“Mga mensaheng galing sa lahat ng bahagi ng sulok ng mundo. Ako’y nagulat sa dami ng nagmamahal at mayroong damdamin para sa amin."

“Maraming-maraming salamat po galing sa America, Canada, Japan, Australia, Hongkong, Singapore, and all over the provinces."

“To all the bishops, the monsignor, and the priests who sent their prayers and inspirational messages for me, to all of you, I’m very, very grateful. Maraming salamat po,” he said.

He ended his message by urging people to cherish their families and loved ones, emphasizing the importance of expressing love and appreciation while there is still time. “Mahalin ninyo ang inyong mga anak, ang inyong apo, ang inyong asawa, mga kaibigan,” he said.
