Randy Santiago keeps mum on Raymart Santiago, Claudine Barretto’s issue

Randy Santiago has chosen not to speak publicly on the ongoing issue involving his brother, actor Raymart Santiago, and Raymart’s ex-wife Claudine Barretto, following the recent viral interview of Claudine’s mother, Inday Barretto.

In an interview with entertainment reporter MJ Marfori, Randy was asked for an update on Raymart. He confirmed that Raymart is doing well, describing the circumstances as sensitive and explaining that it’s hard to comment on the matter.

“He’s good, he’s very good. Kung ano man ang naririnig nila, siyempre mahirap magsalita,” Randy said in the video posted by News5.

When asked how he supports his brother during the situation, Randy answered, “Very supportive yung buong pamilya. It’s a matter of who you listen to. Ika nga.” He added that their family remains united and chooses to handle personal matters privately.

Randy also noted that although he is aware of the developments, he prefers not to issue statements regarding the issue. “Ako, alam kong… nandun ako sa loob, so I would know as a kuya. Kumbaga ako na lang yung inaasahan. My mom’s gone, my dad’s gone. Kung gusto ko magsalita, magsasalita ako—but I choose not to. So kumbaga, problema nila yun,” he said.

In another clip posted by MJ on YouTube, which carried the headline “Tahimik kami: Randy Santiago, nakasuporta pero hindi magsasalita sa issue ng kapatid na si Raymart at Claudine,” Randy reiterated that the Santiago family prefers to avoid engaging publicly in personal issues.

“Kasi yung The Santiago clan medyo ang tahimik kami. So we want to keep it that way. So yun, kumbaga problema ng isa, andoon kami nakasuporta. Pero para mag-ingay kami, hindi kami yun eh. So ayun, pabayaan mo na sa proseso,” he told MJ.

Claudine Barretto is a renowned Filipino actress. Recently, Ogie Diaz shared the official response of Raymart Santiago’s legal team after his interview with Inday Barretto. Lawyers Atty. Howard Calleja and Atty. Katrin Jessica Distor-Guinigundo refuted Inday Barretto’s claims as baseless and untrue. They condemned the use of social media and “trial by publicity” against Santiago. The statement reminded Claudine Barretto’s family of an existing gag order and issued a final warning.

Last year, Raymart, through his lawyers, issued a statement on ABS-CBN News as regards the claims made by his estranged wife, Claudine, on the vlog of Luis Manzano, Luis Listens. According to Raymart’s lawyers, they would not answer the claims made by Clau because it would be a violation of the gag order issued by the court in relation to their annulment case which is still pending. The statement also issued a warning against “false, malicious, and defamatory statements” of Claudine against their client, Raymart.
