“Davey loved life more than anyone I’ve ever met. He jumped off 75-meter free falls, rode the most frightening roller coasters, savored food, danced goofy, lit up every room with his warmth, his jokes, and loud laughter, and he loved LOVED music and songwriting with such fire.
Yesterday, my husband, our bestfriend, brother, son, bandmate, collaborator, favorite guitar player, master storyteller, and the kindest, brightest, most beautiful person — fought fiercely ‘til the very end. He felt so loved by you all these past few days. Thank you for filling his heart with so much gratitude, community, and hope.
We’re celebrating Davey’s full life at the Phoenix Memorial Chapels & Crematory Inc. Brgy, National Highway, City of Santa Rosa, 4026 Laguna this October 23-26.
There will also be another memorial at St. Peter Urdaneta this October 27-29.
Thank you for being part of Davey’s life. He loved each and every one of you.”

In a post last Septemer, Therese revealed Davey’s health struggle with a rare spinal infection. She wrote:

Right at the start of this year, Davey always complained about his back hurting. We first thought it was just because he was running more or maybe he just needed to strengthen his core. He had an x-ray exam and the doctor he went to didn’t find anything concerning. But 2 months ago, it became more and more painful that it tore right through our daily lives and peace.

And after an executive check-up last month, an MRI, a CT scan and biopsy to aspirate the abscess in his spine… we finally know his final diagnosis. It’s a rare spinal infection, all his doctors say. And we’re grateful to everyday faithfully follow through his treatment plan.

The days and nights are long for our small family - Davey and me. It’s a unique, bottomless heartbreak and restlessness to see a loved one suffer. But Davey is an incredible fighter and persevering. I am a wholehearted planner and thoroughly reliable. We are fiercely hopeful. We are kept afloat by necessary humor and kindness. AND we are not alone.

Thank you to all our families and our friends who are here for us. Thank you for giving Davey strength. We hold tight to your bright love, and can’t wait to ask you out for coffee soon enough. We love, LOVE you all.
