In an emotional post, Ruffa expressed her sadness over the string of crises that have left many Filipinos struggling, saying it breaks her heart to see the suffering but also inspires her to admire the resilience of her fellow countrymen.
The actress, who recently came from Singapore, compared the efficiency and discipline she observed there to the current situation in the Philippines. She said it is difficult not to wish for the same level of order and progress in her own country.
Ruffa ended her post with a message of hope, praying for a better future for the Philippines — one where “every Filipino can thrive with dignity, opportunity, and hope.”

“Sunod-sunod ang nangyayari sa ating bansa—nakakaiyak talaga.
From the shocking political corruption exposé, to the severe flooding, and now the earthquakes… ang sakit sa puso makita ang mga kababayan nating patuloy na naghihirap, pero patuloy ding lumalaban.
Coming from Singapore, where everything is efficient, modern, and well-planned—from the infrastructure to public systems and the discipline of the people—it’s hard not to wish the same for our beloved Philippines.
I pray that one day, we and our children will live to see a progressive nation where every Filipino can thrive with dignity, opportunity, and hope.
A future that we, and the generations after us, genuinely deserve.”
Ruffa Gutierrez is a Filipina actress, model, TV host, and beauty queen. She is the eldest and only daughter of Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama. In 1993, she was crowned Binibining Pilipinas and became the Second Runner-Up at Miss World held in South Africa. In her personal life, Ruffa has two daughters — Lorin and Venice — with her former husband, Yilmaz Bektas.
