Although Pokwang did not directly address any specific issue or person, her simple yet striking comment echoed the public’s sentiment about corruption and justice in the country.
Known for being outspoken on social and political matters, the comedienne often uses her platform to voice her thoughts on current issues. By sharing the viral FTTM post, Pokwang appeared to join many Filipinos who continue to question why, as the quote says, “wala pa ring nakukulong na korap.”

Marietta Subong, or Pokwang, is among the most well-loved comediennes in the industry. Her frank and motherly ways are always "patok" among Filipinos. She used to be with ABS-CBN but moved to GMA during the pandemic. Some of her popular movies are Call Center, A Mother’s Story, and Edsa Woolworth. She has two daughters, Mae and Malia. Her split with Lee O'Brian has caused a buzz on social media.
In a previous report by KAMI, Pokwang once again proven she is unafraid to speak her mind. On September 21, the actress and comedienne shared a fiery statement on her Instagram Stories, coinciding with the nationwide rallies calling for accountability and action against corruption. Her words reflected the anger of young people and the wider public who feel betrayed by greed and abuse of power. While she did not target specific figures, the post was widely read as a demand for accountability. Through this, Pokwang underscored her role in echoing the frustrations of a generation no longer willing to stay silent.
In another report, Earlier, Pokwang revealed on social media that she has been overworking despite being sick. She linked her struggles to the comfort and luxury enjoyed by unnamed individuals who flaunt their lavish lifestyles online. The actress-comedienne also encouraged such people not to deactivate their social media accounts, adding, “para alam ng taong bayan na napapasaya namin kayo.” Her message surfaced as public frustration over social inequality and corruption remains a heated issue. In recent weeks, netizens have pointed out how families of politicians and government contractors allegedly live in comfort—traveling abroad, flaunting luxury items, and enjoying privileges—while ordinary workers face daily struggles.
