The Asia’s Songbird followed this with a lengthy post criticizing the tax system and the heavy burden carried by hardworking Filipinos.
“In the meantime we continue to pay taxes. Taxes na pinagpaguran natin lahat may tax baka isang araw magising tayo na ultimo hangin may tax na,” the singer-actress wrote. Her words captured the exasperation of many citizens who continue to pay their taxes but often see little improvement in services or disaster response.
In her final post, Regine frankly expressed, “Lahat ng ninakaw itulong nyo sa Cebu!!!!!”
This plea came as Cebu continues to grapple with the aftermath of the earthquake, with thousands of residents displaced and communities in urgent need of assistance. Many interpreted her statement as a demand to redirect stolen or misused funds toward relief and rehabilitation efforts for victims.
The posts quickly went viral, generating thousands of reactions, shares, and discussions online. Her series of posts not only amplified the call for immediate aid but also underscored the public’s clamor for accountability and transparency in government.
