Bela Padilla has spoken out against Sarah Discaya after a photo of her making a finger heart gesture upon arriving at the Department of Justice (DOJ) went viral, sparking debate on whether the move was inappropriate given the circumstances.

On Saturday, Sarah and her husband, Curlee Discaya, appeared at the DOJ to submit additional evidence related to alleged irregularities in flood control projects. The couple, who have been linked to the controversy, are also under evaluation by the DOJ for inclusion in the witness protection program.

In an image shared by ABS-CBN News, Sarah can be seen smiling and flashing a finger heart—a Korean-inspired gesture often used to express love and affection—while facing the media outside the DOJ building. The lighthearted move drew mixed reactions online, with some seeing it as harmless and others criticizing it as insensitive in light of the ongoing investigation.

Among the most prominent voices of criticism was Bela Padilla, who did not mince words in her reaction.

“She’s not taking herself, the magnitude of what she and her husband did and all of us seriously,” Bela wrote alongside a clown face emoji as she reposted the ABS-CBN News update on her Instagram Stories.

The actress further penned, “@doj.ph is this kind of behavior acceptable to you?”

Bela’s words reflected concerns that Sarah’s behavior made light of an issue central to accountability and public trust.

There, Bela recalled her breakup with Norman and the reason behind it. Despite the breakup, however, Bela said she and Norman are still friends.
