Vlogger and entrepreneur Viy Cortez has spoken out after facing heavy online criticism for joining the September 21 rally against corruption in Manila. The social media personality, who is part of the well-known Team Payaman and wife of content creator Cong TV, drew mixed reactions from netizens.

Some criticized her past content and alleged political leanings, saying she had no right to speak against corruption now, while others defended her, stressing that every citizen has the right to protest and stand up for good governance.

In her post, Viy acknowledged the criticisms but emphasized that she has learned to face them differently compared to before. She admitted that she had also been bashed in the past, but this time she is choosing to embrace the experience with acceptance and strength. According to her, she fully accepts the negativity “with her whole heart,” recognizing that she has made mistakes in the past. However, she explained that what feels different now is the sense of freedom and lightness she experiences in standing up for what she believes in despite the backlash. For Viy, the hate no longer weighs as heavily on her, and instead of holding her back, it motivates her to continue moving forward with her life.

“Nababash ako noon, At ngayon nanaman ulit. Tanggap ko ng buong puso dahil alam ko saan ako nagkamali. Ang pinagkaiba lang ngayon mas malaya sa pakiramdam. Tuloy ang buhay.”

On November 5, Viy uploaded a new 10-minute vlog on her YouTube channel. The said vlog featured the celebrity couple's grand gender reveal party for the family. By the end of the now-viral vlog, Viy had inserted the official gender reveal, which showed that the couple was expecting a cute baby girl. In the viral video, guests could be seen cheering loudly upon seeing the result of the gender reveal.
