On Tuesday, September 23, the comedian and television host took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice frustration over what he described as massive corruption in the country’s public works spending. The revelation was brought to light amid the ongoing Senate Blue Ribbon Committee investigation into questionable allocations under the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Vice Ganda underscored the scale of the issue by comparing the staggering figure in just one province to potential irregularities nationwide.
“Sa Bulacan pa lang ‘to! Magkano na pag buong Pilipinas? At nakaw pa lang ‘to sa DPWH. Paano pa pag sinama ‘yung sa ibang departments tulad ng Health, Customs, Education, etc.?” he wrote.

In the same post, the It’s Showtime host also defended his use of strong language, saying it was a natural reaction to corruption of such magnitude. He argued that victims of public fund misuse should not be expected to remain polite while being robbed of resources meant for their welfare.
“Tapos ‘yung iba kukuwestiyon bakit ako napamura? Ano ba dapat ang sabihin ng mga nanakawan?? THANK YOU PO MAM/SIR?!” he added.
