On Sunday, September 21, Maja posted on Instagram a photo of a lit candle alongside a message that reflected both her role as a mother and her concern for the nation.

Maja stressed that corruption threatens not just governance but also the future of Filipino children. She framed her statement as a prayer, highlighting the deep concern of many parents who fear that dishonesty in leadership deprives the youth of opportunities.

The actress and celebrity mom then followed with a firmer declaration: “TAMA NA! NANININDIGAN AKO PARA MATIGIL NA ANG KURAPSYON!”

Her message comes as corruption remains a central issue in national debates, particularly in relation to how public funds are used for infrastructure and social programs. Many Filipinos have expressed frustration that despite billions allocated for flood control, disaster response, and poverty alleviation, communities continue to suffer from poor services and recurring problems.
