Sarah Geronimo gave a stirring performance at the opening ceremonies of UAAP Season 88 held at the University of Santo Tomas on Friday, September 19, where she used the stage not only to entertain but also to inspire.

The singer and actress addressed the crowd with heartfelt words, touching on the struggles and hopes of many Filipinos.
During her special number, Sarah took a moment to speak directly to the audience, urging the youth to remain steadfast in their faith in the nation’s future despite the challenges brought about by systemic problems.
“Ang ating mga kabataan, kayo ang pag-asa ng ating bansa, ng ating bayan, One day, kayo ang magbabago ng bulok na sistema ng bansang ito.”

“Huwag kayong mawalan ng pag-asa, huwag tayong mawalan ng pag-asa. Kumapit tayo sa hope at magtiwala. Patuloy na magtiwala na balang araw, magbabago rin ang bulok na sistema na 'yan at uunlad din ang ating mahal na bansang Pilipinas,” Sarah declared, drawing loud cheers and applause from the crowd.
The award-winning performer also underscored her vision of a better Philippines where opportunities are abundant for all.
“Hindi na natin kailangang umalis ng bansa para makapaghanap ng magandang trabaho dahil nandito na lahat ng oportunidad. Patuloy nating ipagdasal ang ating bansa,” she added.
Her words at the UAAP stage highlighted her awareness of the realities faced by ordinary Filipinos and her desire for positive change.
