In a social media post, Sam did not hold back in expressing his sentiments on the government’s handling of public funds. He lamented how corruption continues to burden ordinary citizens more than the natural disasters they face.

“More than drowning in floods, we are drowning in CORRUPTION. When the law no longer protects us from the corrupt but PROTECTS the CORRUPT from us, we are in deep trouble. Time to wake up. Nothing changes if nothing changes,” Sam wrote.

“Can we also stop paying taxes till the government gets its act together? Imagine… we’ve been paying for all the luxury cars, trips, bags, etc. of these corrupt people all along. Baka pwedeng tax break muna?” he added.

Sam also expressed dismay over the seemingly endless hearings that rarely translate into meaningful action.

“Sana ‘di puro hearing. Sana may mangyari,” he said in the caption of his post, which came alongside quote cards emphasizing his message.

Sam’s remarks come at a time when questions about accountability and transparency in government spending have been repeatedly raised. His post quickly drew engagement from netizens, many of whom echoed his frustration over the alleged misuse of public funds.

While Sam did not name specific officials, his call reflects a growing public clamor for stronger anti-corruption measures and genuine reforms in governance. The idea of a “tax break” for citizens, though not a formal proposal, underscores the sense of exhaustion and disillusionment many Filipinos feel as corruption controversies continue to unfold.
