Posting throwback photos of their life together, Jaya wrote: “Throwback to our beautiful years together and the joy you brought as an amazing dad to our kids. You were the best partner and an incredible father. Happy birthday in heaven, JAMIR. Jamir Garcia was best known as the powerful voice behind Slapshock, one of the Philippines’ most iconic rock bands. Over the years, Slapshock became a staple in the local rock scene with hits such as “Agent Orange” and “Misterio,” earning a loyal fan base and cementing their place in OPM history. Jamir’s dynamic stage presence and unique vocal style made him a celebrated figure in Philippine rock.
Tragically, Jamir passed away in November 2020 at the age of 42. His death shocked fans and the music industry alike. Many remembered him not only as a talented musician but also as someone who inspired and influenced a generation of rock enthusiasts.
