Actress Yen Santos said that she wants to avoid being caught in another “Baguio trip as friends” situation — a reference to the controversy that surrounded her and actor Paolo Contis back in 2021. In a Q&A vlog uploaded on her YouTube channel on Wednesday, August 13, a follower asked whether it was okay to bring a crush to Baguio “as friends,” a question seemingly alluding to her past headline-making trip with Contis.

“Ano ba, please naman. I’d rather not be part of another Baguio trip like that,” Santos responded, laughing but also making her point clear. Pero kung genuine naman yan, sana transparent kayo at walang sablay,” she added.
Her friend, who was present during the recording, teased her by suggesting, “Ang ganda sa Baguio, ang lamig… Pero sana this time ako na ang dalhin mo para safe ka. Ako na lang kasi dapat ang sinasama mo,” prompting another round of laughter from the actress.
The “Baguio trip” in question refers to September 2021, when photos and videos of Santos and Contis together in Baguio City and at Manaoag Church went viral. At the time, Contis had recently broken up with actress LJ Reyes, sparking speculation that Santos was involved as a third party. Contis denied the allegations in a lengthy Instagram post, explaining that Santos was in Baguio with him only “as friends.” The two have since gone their separate ways.
Yen Santos is a Filipino actress and television personality.
