Marjorie Barretto took to social media to share her pride for her 13-year-old daughter, Erich, posting photos from their July trip to the United Kingdom. “Her courage takes her places my dreams never reached… Sharing more from our July UK trip. My brave Erich applied and got accepted to Oxford summer courses all on her own. She chose to take up Psychology. When she dreams, she goes out and gets them. We can only stand behind her with full support,” Marjorie wrote.

She opened up about the bittersweet emotions of letting her daughter be independent at such a young age. “Inside, my mommy heart was breaking… worried she might be too young to be on her own, but at the same time overflowing with pride. My eyes in these photos might give away how hard it was to let go. I knew I was going to miss her so much, I worried too much, but I was also deeply happy she gets to experience things I never even dreamed were possible for me. July truly stretched us both in ways that made us both grow up. At 13, she has taught me the art of letting go, and that no one is too young or too old to chase after their dreams,” she shared.
According to Marjorie, the experience not only enriched Erich’s education but also strengthened their bond, proving that milestones can be as emotional for parents as they are for children.
Marjorie Barretto is a Filipina former actress and politician. She hails from the prominent Barretto family, with sisters Gretchen and Claudine also being well-known figures in the Philippine entertainment industry. She is a mother to five children from different relationships. Her eldest daughter, Dani Barretto, was born from her relationship with actor Kier Legaspi. Marjorie later married comedian and actor Dennis Padilla in 1997, and they had three children together: Julia , Claudia, and Leon. Meanwhile, Marjorie's youngest child, Erich, was born from her relationship with former Caloocan Mayor Recom Echiverri.
